Prosthetic Leg Helps Cinco the Baby Alpaca Walk Again
Inside a farm in Batesville, Arkansas, a young alpaca named Cinco stands proudly with his custom prosthetic leg. How he ended up with a prosthetic leg is an interesting story. At only six weeks old, tragedy already struck on Cinco's life when he suddenly broke his leg. The interesting part is Cinco did not mind his injury. In fact, he continued to run on it, according to his owner, Caren Barnett. "He damaged it so badly we couldn't save it." And so, the Barnett family approached a local prosthetics company to make a new leg for Cinco. This was the company's first time making a prosthetic leg for an alpaca, as it has only made gear for horses and traditional livestock before. The guy probably didn't even know what an alpaca looked like, said Caren. Thankfully, the leg was a success, and Cinco can now play again with other young alpacas. Cinco's prosthetic leg is a little different to other prosthetic legs. As he is still a growing kid (or a growing cria, the correct term for a baby alpaca), Cinco's leg is made to be adjustable. Watch How this Man Lovingly Wakes up His Deaf and Blind Dog in the Morning
It's already difficult enough to take care of a dog. It's even more difficult when the dog you're taking care of has special needs. Still, Aiden Mann, a veterinary assistant, took up the challenge of taking care of a dog with special needs when he decided to adopt Plum, a deaf and partially blind miniature Australian shepherd. One of the first challenges Mann faced when he adopted Plum was how to wake up the canine, and he tried several methods. Mann tried gently petting Plum to wake her up, but this only startled her. Mann also tried something less intrusive by placing a treat under Plum's nose, but this also was not effective. Finally, Mann discovered the best method to waking up his blind and deaf pup — by gently blowing on her nose.Mann posted a video of him waking up Plum on TikTok, which became viral after a few days.Throughout his time taking care of Plum, Mann has learned to communicate with the dog.(Image Credit: Aiden Mann/ TikTok)#Dog #Pets #Viral #Cute #Wholesome
Bald Eagle Accidentally Shot by Duck Hunters Learn to Fly Again
A container came one day at Dr. Cliff Redford's veterinary clinic. Inside the container was a bald eagle with an injured wing after being accidentally shot by duck hunters. The injury made the majestic bird incapable of flying. It was an urgent situation, and Dr. Redford was well aware of that. He knew that the bird might not fly again if he did not fix its wing immediately, and so he immediately tended to its care. With the help of his staff, Dr. Redford sedated the bird and performed the surgery. The bird was then transferred to the Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge rehab facility after its surgery, and there it would spend weeks healing. After a few months of physical therapy and some test flights, the bald eagle (named Wolf because of her aggressive nature) slowly learned to fly again. On one winter day, Wolf was released, and she flew over the frozen Niagara River. (Image Credit: The Dodo/ YouTube) #Wholesome #Love #Birds #BaldEagle

Tater Tot the Three-Legged Dog Saved His Owner From Drowning
As he stood on the docks at River Forest, Tom Kissel looked forward to a fine day of boating with his 15-year-old Pomeranian/Jack Russell dog Tater Tot. Suddenly, a swell came from the Allegheny River, and Kissel was knocked out cold, and he fell and sunk into the river. Tater Tot, knowing something was wrong, immediately jumped in after the 76-year-old man. But what can he do? He's only a tiny dog. Luckily, there was a veteran cardiac care nurse who noticed the dog struggling in the river. The nurse then saw Kissel underwater. Bystanders near the scene immediately helped pull the nearly lifeless Kissel out of the river, and Mary Jo Lender, the nurse, administered CPR. If not for Tater Tot and the nurse, Kissel would no longer have seen the light of day. Since the incident, Kissel has recovered about "90 percent" and has begun boating once again. "I owe my life to them," Kissel says about his dog and Lender. (All Images: Joyce Hanz/ Tribune-Review) #Wholesome #Emergency #HeroDog #Inspirational
