Dog Resists Affectionate Kittens For As Long as Possible
Kiwi was the only child in his family until the day his mom Océane found two abandoned kittens. The big dog was shocked when he first met the kittens Machu and Picchu, and regarded them as maybe some kind of vermin. But Mom was letting them stay around, so he tolerated them. Meanwhile, the kittens really wanted to be friends! Both of them pestered Kiwi mercilessly wanting to play. They were half grown before Kiwi suddenly decided Machu and Picchu weren't so bad after all, and they became snuggle buddies for good. Lily the goat was born undersized and was rejected by her mother. She went to a sanctuary farm, where they kept her in the house to feed and keep an eye on the newborn. "My Bird is a Cat Person"
While it may seem odd that a cat would have a bird for a best friend, wonderful things can happen when pets are comfortable and well fed. A little love bird named Chicken was the first pet in this home. Later she was joined by Frank, a shelter cat who "liked birds." Luckily, it meant he liked birds as friends and not food. Frank and Chicken got along so well that they got another cat, Pugsley. The three made an odd group, but the cats and bird were tight as any family could be. But then Frank fell sick and died. Pugsley and Chicken helped each other through a mourning period, and it made them even closer. Chicken is even jealous when the humans spend time with the cat! They are so close that Pugsley has pretty much taken up residence in the bird cage. May they have each other for a long, long time. -via Laughing Squid#interspeciesfriendship #cat #lovebird #bird
The Dog That Adopted a Deer
Ludovica the fawn was abandoned by her mother near a farm in Germany. The sisters who run the farm saved the baby deer by feeding her, but did not want her to become too dependent on humans. They kept her outside, although protected by a fence. It was Leo, their dog, who became Ludovica's comforter, protector, and teacher. When she was older, Ludovica was granted freedom to roam, and Leo taught her how to wander in the woods. Now, Ludovica spends most of her time in the woods, hanging out with other deer. But she is still Leo's best friend, and visits the farm whenever the urge strikes. Ludovica is a unique deer living in two worlds. We wish her well, and hope she is a better mother than her own was. The Pit Bull That Raised a Raccoon
A baby raccoon later named Eto was found in a car's wheel well last year. He was taken the House of Oakley, a home in the woods of British Columbia where wild animals can be fostered. Eto immediately took up with the family's pit bull Ashlyn the Wonder Dog, who had already been a foster mom to quite a few raccoons and squirrels. The pit bull and the baby raccoon bonded quite well. Ashlyn is a free-range dog, and took it upon herself to show Eto love and affection, and how to navigate his way through the forest. As he grew, Eto spent more and more time outdoors, learning the ways of dogs and raccoons. Eto has since transitioned to living in the wild just fine.

Let the animals entertain each other! The zoo brought their colony of river otters in to the orangutan enclosure.
This Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a Magpie are Best Friends
Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen are a Gold Coast-based Australian couple. While at a dog park with their easygoing English Staffordshire bull terrier named Peggy, they rescued a newborn Australian magpie who was all alone on the ground encrusted in burs, grass, and twigs. They noticed that the magpie was just a few weeks old and that the flock parents were completely ignoring her. Molly was the name given to her by the couple when they were able to bring her home to heal.Peggy was initially afraid of Molly, according to Wells, because of a previous incident in which she was attacked by magpies. However, as time passed, the two grew to like each other and would lie beside each other and snuggle. Peggy has also saved Molly thanks to her fictitious pregnancy, as said by Wells. "It is very remarkable. Peggy's vets confirmed this and said it's normal when an animal is caring for anything ". According to Wells, "To assist in keeping this fledgling bird alive, Peggy provided milk." This, along with other delicacies typical of a wild bird's diet, kept the rescued magpie alive. Later, Peggy's veterinary team performed a surgery to assist her in ceasing to lactate.Since then, the two have become inseparable and consider one another as family.
