Penguins and Otters at Hakone-en Aquarium in Japan Aren't Happy About Having to Cut Back Due to Inflation
Inflation does not only affect humans but animals too!Because of inflation, Japan's Hakone-en Aquarium had to undergo cost-cutting methods such as changing the diet of the animals and reducing the number of circulation pumps. As mentioned, the diet of these penguins has, according to the penguins, been drastically altered. The penguins and otters were used to being fed with aji (horse mackerel). The aquarium, however, switched to a cheaper alternative, saba (mackerel).Since they were used to being fed with aji, the penguins clearly did not like being fed with saba. The penguins were captured in images turning away haughtily. This change is not a choice that the aquarium did happily; it is the aquarium's natural response to inflation. The aquarium needs to be able to accommodate the diets of 32,000 or more animals. Save the economy! Save the penguins!Image credit: TV Asahi #Penguin #Aquarium #Japan #Inflation #Economy
Aquarium Discovers Penguins Can Be Picky Eaters
Cat owners know the pain of picky eating. Try swapping out a store brand cat food for their Fancy Feast and be ready to feel the wrath of your spoiled pet as he shows his disdain. It turns out that cats aren't the only animals that act this way. To deal with inflated prices, an aquarium in Japan is gradually cutting back on the quality of food for their animals. Some of the residents are having none of it. Hakone-en Aquarium, in the Kanagawa prefecture, switched out 10% of the usual fatty aji, also known as Japanese horse mackerel, for the cheaper saba to feed the penguins, seals, and otters in May. They had planned to use the cheaper fish at 30-40% by July. However, the penguins know the difference, and some have refused to eat the less expensive fish. They aren't shy about showing their displeasure, either! The more discriminating birds aren't going without. For those who refuse to eat the cheaper fish, accommodations have been made so that they get their daily nutrition. Picky eating for the win! -via Fark#penguin #otter #fish #aquarium #diet

This Custom Aquarium Has a Cat Observation Port
Melissa Krieger is the human servant of Jasper and Willow. She fully embraces her role, as amply demonstrated by this custom aquarium that she had built by Aquatics and Exotics in Cincinnati, Ohio. That company, I gather, normally makes luxury aquaria for business settings. But it was willing to produce this remarkable piece for two cats with special tastes.Related: Leon the Lobster
Family Built a Special Custom Aquarium to Let Their Cat Get Closer to His Fish Buddies
The quote "Fish are friends, not food" from the movie Finding Nemo seems to apply perfectly to this family. Theybuilt a special custom aquarium to let their cat get closer to his fish buddies. The aquarium looks like a pretty normal one, except for one unique detail. The glass underneath is custom-made in a way that their cat is almost able to reach inside the tank. From the other videos uploaded, the two family cats take turns in peeking through the glass. The video shows how they really enjoy the company of the fishes. Stories like this show that animals can share their love for each other despite their differences.Image credit: @jasperthecatfish on TikTok#fish #cat #TikTok #pets #animals #aquarium
