Leon the Lobster: From the Seafood Section to Prized Pet

Brady Brandwood had an empty saltwater tank and wanted a new and different pet to house in it. Instead of a pet shop, he went to a supermarket and bought a lobster from the seafood section! The lobster looked dead when he got it home, but revived in the salt water.

This lobster, now named Leon, hit the jackpot! Instead of being someone's dinner, he enjoyed the best foods Brandwood could find for him, plus therapy so his claws could recover from his time in the seafood market. Notice how his colors brightened under Brandwood's care. As he healed from his trauma, Leon started expressing his personality by cleaning and rearranging his tank and playing with his food. If you scoff at the idea of a lobster having a personality, just watch the video. It's amazing what you can learn about an animal when you keep an eye on it and care for it every day. Brandwood likes his lobster so much that he's thinking of getting Leon a larger aquarium. -via Digg ā€‹

Update - It's been almost 3 months after Leon the lobster was rescued from the grocery store's seafood section. So how's he doing now? Brandwood just posted a video update and you'd be glad to see that he seems to have recovered fully and doing well!

Update Jan 14, 2022: Brady Brandwood posted a second update where Leon got a much larger aquarium, a 125-gallon tank (twice the size of his old tank) which has a coral cave. Leon wasn't happy at first and didn't want to move out of his old tank, but things looked up for him soon afterwards.
