Pink Floyd the Flamingo Who Escaped from a Kansas Zoo in 2005, was Just Spotted in Texas

ā€‹Nearly 17 years ago, flamingos No. 492 and No. 347 fled from the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas, when the zoo staff forgot to clip their feathers again. Ever since their escape, one of the flamingos, No. 492, has been spotted in various places in the United States.

A few weeks ago, the Coastal Fisheries Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department posted a video featuring No. 492 (also known as "Pink Floyd") walking through Cox Bay near Port Lavaca. It would seem, the agency joked, that the pink bird, "has returned from the dark side of [the] moon."

It is believed that Pink Floyd is about 27 years old, which means that the flamingo in question might have only few years left, as experts believe that flamingos in the wild can live until about 30.
