Kentucky Shelter Cats Airlifted to Massachusetts After Tornados

When deadly tornadoes flattened several western Kentucky towns last week, many pets were displaced and needed temporary shelter. But the local shelters were already full of cats, so the good people of Massachusetts came to the rescue. Around 100 cats waiting for adoption in the shelters were flown from Kentucky to Hanscom Field airport in Bedford, Massachusetts, Wednesday. This emptied the shelters in Kentucky so they could take in lost pets that were displaced by the disaster.

The cats were sent to Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem and to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) Cape Cod Adoption Center. If you would like to give one of these kitties a home, check out the Kentucky Cats site for more information, or contact the shelters directly. -via Fark ā€‹
