Oldest Living Dog is TobyKeith, a 21-Year-Old ChihuahuaAt 21 years old, this canine is officially the oldest dog in the world. Born on 9 January 2001, chihuahua TobyKeith from Florida has just been certified with the distinction by the Guinness World Records. The old dog belongs to Gisela Shore, who has been with him his entire life. She adopted TobyKeith from a shelter when he was just a few months old. Having been together for over two decades, naturally the two share a close bond. Shore says that TobyKeith, small as he is, likes to act as her bodyguard. At home, TobyKeith has two “sisters” : Luna (a seven-year-old American Bulldog) and Lala (a three-year-old Chinese Crested). TobyKeith has a heart condition, which is thankfully not serious. In fact, now 21 years 3 months 5 days old at the time of writing, TobyKeith has far exceeded the usual life expectancy of an average Chihuahua, which can range from 12 to 18 years. Skippy is the Oldest Dog in Ireland at 130 Human Years OldThey say dogs are man’s best friends. Well, this Irish dog has been best friends with his owner for over twenty years. Skippy was born in 1995, which makes him over 130-years-old in dog years. That makes him perhaps one of the oldest dogs in Ireland AND the world. His owner Pat Geraghty, 84, has raised Skippy since he was a few weeks old. The pup was born in a dog kennel in Belmullet sometime in 1995. Since then, they’ve spent the years together in Pat’s County Mayo farm. Asked about the secret to Skippy’s longevity, Pat simply concluded that it must’ve been the natural food he’d fed him and the open air of the Erris Peninsula that they lived in.Image: Pearce Prior#dog #Ireland #SkippyTheDog #longevity #oldest #worldrecord
