Suburbanites are Warned that a Large African Caracal Cat is on the Loose in Royal Oak, Michigan

A large African caracal cat is on the loose in the Royal Oak area in Michigan, and the city police contacted the Royal Oaks Schools to give warnings about the wandering African caracal. It was last seen around an elementary school at 13 Mile and Rochester Road.

Weighing around 50 pounds, this caracal is one of the two that escaped from the owner’s place. Fortunately, the owner was able to bait the other one back inside his home using raw meat. This is not the first time that the cats escaped from their shelter.

Caracals are nocturnal carnivorous predators that prey on smaller animals such as mammals, rodents, and birds. This is why residents are warned to keep their pets inside their homes and immediately call the authorities when the cat is sighted.
