Sakhon Nakhon local Tu, 49, was walking near his home when he spotted a mysterious furry snake floating in a swamp. The 2-foot long snake had a fur-like frilly body that resembled a dragon.
He brought the creature home and kept it in an earthen water jar. Upon seeing it, everyone was astonished by the snake’s appearance. Tu’s niece posted a video of the reptile, asking experts to identify their strange discovery.
While waiting for officials to identify the animal, some speculated that it might be a puff-faced water snake that had moss growing on its body from waiting so long in the swamp to catch its prey in the still water. That species of water snake is believed to have originated from the Indonesian archipelago.
