There’s nothing more heartwarming in the world than a found family.&nbsp;Luna the tawny owl has had a series of misfortune with her offspring. First, she lost a set of eggs. Then, after waiting for a year for another batch, her eggs failed to hatch. But miracles do happen. Luna’s caretaker, Robert Fuller, came across two rescued chicks in need of a mother. Immediately, Robert knew who to place them with.While Luna was away, Robert placed the baby owls in her nest in hopes that Luna would take them once she was back. Sure enough, in the footage capturing the moment of Luna’s return, the tawny owl immediately took the two babies under her wings (literally) for warmth. Mama Tawny Owl Adopts Two Rescue Owl Chicks

British wildlife artist Robert E. Fuller rescues owls and tells their stories in his <a href="https://www.robertefuller.com/">paintings</a> and <a href="https://www.robertefuller.com/diary/saving-nature-looking-after-tawny-owls/">online</a>. Luna is a tawny owl who was herself rescued in 2017. Her mate Bomber is quite a bit older and might not be fertile anymore. At any rate, Luna's eggs failed to hatch last year and this year. She seemed quite distraught. Then two extremely young owlets came into care, and Fuller took a chance and put them in Luna's nest.

Well, that escalated quickly. It took less than half a second for Luna to decide these were her chicks! Let's check in his the family a few days later.
