Scuba Divers Saved a Giant Oceanic Manta Ray Tangled in Fishing LineHere's another heartwarming story of humans rescuing animals. On September 14, two scuba divers helped an oceanic manta, the largest species of ray in the world.Divers at Plaza Beach and Dive Resort and Toucan Diving of the island of Bonaire, Rugene Marinus "Spider" and Phyllis Mihalas spotted a ray tangled in a fishing line. They immediately approached the creature and carefully removed all of the fishing lines on it. After the rescue, they registered the oceanic manta in a database for the vulnerable species. Oceanic Rays love to spend time in the waters around Bonaire, an island municipality of the Netherlands that lies in the southern Caribbean. Thanks to these hero divers, Spi-Phyll, the female ray rescued, is now safely swimming in the ocean. All Images: Toucan Diving Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire#OceanicMantaRay #LargestRay #Bonaire #ScubaDivers
