Baby Goat Raised with a Cat
Lily the goat was born undersized and was rejected by her mother. She went to a sanctuary farm, where they kept her in the house to feed and keep an eye on the newborn. Lily was only two pounds, but thrived under the constant care and made friends with the other animals. Lily bonded with an older male cat named Bean, who became her snuggle buddy and mentor. Even after Lily grew up and moved outside, she still relates more to cats than to other goats! Friendly Fields Farm has all kinds of rescued livestock, poultry, and cats. You can follow Lily and the other animals on Facebook or Instagram.#goat #cat #interspeciesfriendship #sanctuary #farm
Their New Property Came with 16 Cats
Three years ago, Emily and Dylan bought a 15-acre farm and named it Freedom Farmhouse. The house came with an interesting history you can read here. There were 16 feral barn cats living on the grounds that the previous owner could not capture. It wasn't a dealbreaker, as they had dogs and Emily was already fostering homeless puppies. She didn't know much about cats, though. With time and treats they were able to make friends with the colony.
