Crocodile Freed from Tire After Six YearsA female crocodile in Indonesia managed to get a motorcycle tire stuck around her neck. The reptile was first reported in 2016, and has since been sighted and photographed many times near the city of Palu. She was named buaya kalung ban, which translates to "crocodile with a tire necklace." If the croc grew to a certain size with the tire still attached, she could be strangled. But who wants to approach a crocodile to remove her necklace? To be honest, many people have tried -and failed. Conservation officials even offered a reward. Crocodile wranglers from Australia and the US tried to free the croc. One such attempt was featured on the Discovery show Impossible Croc Rescue.
Boy Who Survived Crocodile Attack in Mexico Dresses as Crocodile for HalloweenDuring a family vacation in Mexico, a 12-year-old boy named Charlie Buhl was attacked by a 10- to 13-foot crocodile. His family rushed him to the hospital and they had to extend their stay as he needed to undergo several medical procedures in a Cancún hospital. The resort at which Charlie got attacked, Club Med, covered all medical expenses and extended their apologies to the family by providing continuous assistance. The spokesperson for Club Med also expressed their plan to prevent additional attacks: to install warning signs, lights, and taller fencing. Now, Charlie is still in the recovery process. He can walk and run with a limp, and kick a soccer ball, but is yet to play in a soccer game. This traumatic incident, however, did not hinder Charlie from using his wit. Through his humor and creativity, he was able to make the quote, "Turn your obstacles into opportunities" true to life. For this year's Halloween, Charlie, together with his friends, decided to dress as a crocodile.Image credit: Jennifer Buhl #Halloween #Crocodile #Mexico #CrocodileAttack
