​Milo, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, has been a sweet friend to the butterflies that fly around in his family’s garden. In fact, he loves his butterfly friends so much that he lets them perch on him for as long as they’d like, always patient when they land on him.

​“We grow lots of food and flowers in our garden so it is a wonderland for butterflies,” Jen Bennett, Milo’s mom, told <a href="https://www.thedodo.com/daily-dodo/dog-is-friends-with-butterflies-in-his-garden">The Dodo</a>. “Two years ago we started raising monarchs, which has been so fun. Milo loves to watch all the butterflies fly around.”​

​As her fur mom, Bennett also said, Milo sees the growth of the backyard butterflies with her — from baby caterpillars to chrysalis then to butterflies. They check the butterflies every morning and Milo really loves hanging out with his butterfly pals.

Milo has always been good in front of the camera (he even has his own <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfM6B7GJy91hqNIUvQEOBfQ">cooking show with his mom</a>), so a bunch of photos of him with his butterfly friends was captured easily.

The family’s garden is a haven for butterflies since they often come from all around. Milo has always been more than willing to watch and hang out with any new butterfly who visits their yard.“We had millions of painted lady butterflies that migrated through our garden,” Bennett said. “It was like a cloud of butterflies coming though. He just kept looking up at them in wonder. Looking back and forth so fast to not to miss any!”
