Here is a good reason to get your cats to inspect your Christmas tree. Rob and Marcela Wild put a Christmas tree up in their home in the Western Cape area of South Africa. Not long after getting the tree decorated, they saw their cats staring at a particular spot in the tree branches. They were watching a snake! It was a venomous boomslang. While the boomslang is not an aggressive snake and rarely bites, its venom is so deadly that one bite can kill a person. The Wilds wasted no time in calling a professional. Gerrie Heyns came and used "snake tongs" to remove the boomslang from the Christmas tree, and from the house.
The snake was released back into the wild. You can read more of the story at CNN. A good time was had by all. -via Fark ā
