When you live near Tucson, Arizona, it might not be such a good idea to put a doggie door in your home. Nikola Zovko and his family have three dogs, two cats, a sheep, and a donkey, all behind a five-foot fence. But last Monday, they found out how flimsy their defenses really are. Zovko found that a bobcat had entered the house and settled into his dog's heated dog bed!

Zovko opened the front door, but the bobcat initially didn't want to leave the heated bed, and just growled at Zovko. The cat left before fish and game department officials arrived. A search found that Squeakers, the 10-year-old chihuahua who normally slept in that bed, was missing. Squeakers came home the next day with injuries showing that he had been mauled by the bobcat. A veterinarian treated his deep lacerations, but found no internal injuries. Only Squeakers knows what really happened when the bobcat decided he wanted the dog's bed. The chihuahua came home from the animal hospital to a brand new bed. You can follow Squeakers' recovery at Instagram. -via reddit
