A 20-year old Sulcata tortoise became a ring bearer in the wedding of exotic animal veterinarians Ericka and Jay Johnson at Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens in Tucson, Arizona. It took 3 minutes for the reptile to walk down the aisle, unlike the others that usually took only a few seconds.
Erika and Jay placed strawberries at the walkway so Tom Shelleck, the ring bearer tortoise, could follow them to the altar. "He started at the end of the aisle and went and grabbed the strawberries in a row, and once he was to the front in the wedding, the officiant took the rings off the little arrangement that was attached to the back of his shell," Erika said.
