Cats may have a reputation for being aloof and antisocial, but that's mostly just the way we interpret their behavior. Besides, cats each have their own personalities. Some will act aloof but crave companionship deep down inside. Others will let you know if they are lonely. Josiah Ross got a kitten from the shelter a couple of years ago that he named Phillip and showered with affection and quality time. But Josiah has to go to work every day. One day he set up a camera to find out how Phillip acts when he leaves. Beware, this is heartbreaking.

The consensus at TikTok is that Josiah needs to get a second cat. I would recommend that as well, if you are going to be away from your beloved pet for hours at a time, but there are other things you can do to keep your cat from being lonely.
