Erica's dog brought home an egg. Instead of throwing it out, she and her partner bought a state-of-the-art incubator to help the egg along until it hatched! That took a month, and when it hatched, the chick confirmed what they had suspected- a wild turkey. They called the little female Baby Turkey, because they had the goal of returning her to the wild. The adorable Baby Turkey got along just fine, both as an inside pet when she was little to an outside bird later on.
Erica eventually took on a rooster named Roger that needed a home. And since her experience with Baby Turkey, she's taken on other bird rehabilitation projects. You can follow her adventures at the homestead they call Lost Mile Organic Farm at TikTok.
