You probably laughed a little harder than usual, because the video brings up the memory of a classic.
But while that was funny because of the exquisitely-edited music, Roger did it for real. But Roger was okay, and is in fact, an excellent swimmer. Roger is also a girl cat. Roger belongs to a sailor and artist named Hannah O'Brian. She lives and works on her sailboat the Phoenix. Roger has lived aboard the boat since she was a kitten. It appears to be a wonderful life for an artist and a cat.

Roger took that leap of faith because she was going home, and couldn't wait to get aboard.
