Poorly Drawn Pets Raise Funds for Shelter

The Coulee Region Humane Society in Onalaska, Wisconsin, had an innovative fundraiser recently that netted them almost a thousand dollars so far. For a donation of $20 or more, they drew a picture of the donor's pet, although they didn't guarantee any kind of quality art. They call it the "Poorly Drawn Pets" campaign.

Some of the on-air staff at WKBT-TV were enlisted to help out by drawing the pets from pictures submitted. Many of the pets and drawings are posted as replies underneath this Facebook post, and some of them are honestly pretty good. Even when they are bad, they are laughed at and then cherished. After all, the money goes to help feed and shelter dogs and cats who don't have a loving home and a family to giggle at their poorly-drawn portraits. More shelters should try this. -via Fark ā€‹
