Capybaras are known to be really chill and accepting of other animals. They are also quite charming. Zoo Negara in Malaysia has a colony of capybaras that accepted a new member who is not a capybara. An orange cat named Oyen moved into the capybara enclosure a few years ago and just ...stayed. Oyen doesn't have a microchip, and no one knows where he came from, but he's part of the family now. Zookeepers noticed Oyen was always around at feeding time, but being obligate carnivores, cats can't live on capybara chow. So they give him cat food! Oyen has become quite famous in Malaysia, and people come to the zoo specifically to see that cat who lives among capybaras.

The zoo made it official recently, by adding a plaque with Oyen's name to the Capybara enclosure. He is now a zoo cat, who lives where he wishes... which is with his capybara family.
