Wendy Powick, an Australian golfer, handles this novel obstacle in the typically unworried Australian fashion. Yes, there’s a mob (that’s the correct collective noun) of kangaroos on a fairway at the Arundel Hills Country Club south of Brisbane. They watch intently but, like a good golf audience, do so silently. Then the hop off to the next tee. Powick takes her swing.
I suspect that she’d react similarly if she’d seen a den of Eastern Brown Snakes, a cluster of Sydney Funnel-Web Spider, or a tangle of Blue Ringed Octopodes. Those obstacles raise the par of a hole.
