Aw, look at this poor cat! He looks as if he has been beaten down by the world. But besides that sad face, he's got lovely fat cheeks and beautiful markings. This is Fishtopher, and his photo went viral when it was posted to Petfinder over the Thanksgiving weekend. He was described as "very sad and depressed and will only eat when he has company." That face captured a lot of hearts. Five-year-old Fishtopher was in the care of Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Camden, New Jersey. They were inundated with offers to adopt him. Laura Folts and Tanner Callahan drove up from Baltimore and were selected to take Fishtopher home!
Fishtopher is settling in well in his new home in Maryland, and the shelter is pleased that his viral fame has led to other cats being adopted as well. Fishtopher looks a lot happier these days, as you can see at Instagram. -via Fark
