In April, there was a fire in downtown Phoenix. In the aftermath, a small black cat was found wandering with severe burns. She was taken to the Arizona Humane Society. Libby had burns on her paws, ears, and face. She was immediately given an IV for fluids, antibiotics, and pain relief. Over the next four months, Libby underwent a series of painful procedures, including the removal of some toes and debridement of skin and flesh as she started to heal. Finally, Libby was well enough to be placed in a foster home.
Doesn't she look a lot better? Strangely, in the places her fur was burned off her face, it has grown back white! Libby now has the distinctive look of a survivor. Libby is estimated to still be less than a year old, and on Tuesday was listed for adoption to a forever home. She has since been deleted from the gallery of adoptable pets, which means she has either been matched, or they have too many applications to sift through. Either way, we wish Libby all the best for her next eight lives! Read Libby's story at People. -via Fark
