The Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California, took in a litter of playful white puppies in order to find them homes. One of them, named Star, was deaf and almost totally blind. But she seemed to get around fairly well, thank to her brother Denver. He was not only her playmate, he was her seeing-eye dog! Star is surprisingly capable on her own, but she and Denver are devoted to each other, and the shelter decided that they could not be separated. Would anyone take in two energetic young dogs at once, when one has serious special needs? Well, this is The Dodo, so you know the story has a happy ending.
