TikTok user Matt McCarthy (@mccarthyredhead) collects old VHS tapes and sees what people recorded on them in the olden days. These old home movies are time capsules from strange times with often only limited context.
A fan asked McCarthy what his weirdest find was. He replied that he once found a recording of a dog wedding from June 5, 1994. It shows the the staged wedding of two beagles named Gigi and Barney.
After the couple recited their vows (or their humans did so for them), an Elvis impersonator sang.
The humans prepared a dog-friendly cake, which the dogs enthusiastically enjoyed.
McCarthy quips, "Can you believe this summer will be their 29th wedding anniversary? I wonder what they’re up to now.” The adoring couple looks so in love with each other. This is an inspiration for all of us who want lifelong love stories
