Police have sworn an oath to protect and serve their communities. Sometimes that means responding to calls about unusual suspects lurking in unusual places.
Police in Eufaula, Alabama, were called to a home about a trespasser slithering and hiding on the property. When they arrived they found a frightening, but harmless, rat snake curled up in the toilet. How the snake got there is unclear. Thankfully, the police were able to remove the snake from the premises.
The snake was released on its own recognizance with the expectation that it will not become a repeat offender. The Eufaula Police Department joked, “In the snake's defense, he was just trying to reach the homeowner about their car’s extended warranty.”
