Wild animals do not make good pets. Some people don't realize that until it's too late for the animal. After four years of being kept as pets, these two raccoons were not only clueless about how to survive in the wild, they were morbidly obese! Kimberly DeFisher runs a wildlife sanctuary and rehab facility called Arctic Fox Daily. She took the raccoons in, named them Mo and Savvy, and put them on a diet. They get plenty of fruits and vegetables, but limited fats and carbs. Kim also fashioned them an enclosure with plenty of climbing places to encourage exercise. And the pounds are starting to come off!
Meet the foxes, wild dogs, and raccoons that Kim cares for on a permanent basis, as well as their tragic backstories, in this video. You can see more of the sanctuary's animals at TikTok.
