If you've used the internet for more than a few years, you are familiar with the concept of Ceiling Cat. It began as a funny picture of a cat poking its head through a hole in the ceiling, watching the folks below. Over time, ceiling cat got its own lore. It came to be an analogy for judgement, as the cat is "looking down" on us. It evolved to be a deity in LOLcat culture, a metaphor for God, and is now often assumed to be white. Its converse, Basement Cat, is of course black and represents Satan.

But cats will get into the ceiling any chance they get. They like to climb into high, tight places, and are curious enough to look through any hole they might find. When a cat looks down from the ceiling, you have to take a picture. Bored Panda has a gallery of dozens of cats staring down at us from ceilings, ranked by how funny they are.
