The more we study primates, the more they remind us of ourselves. This monkey has a banana. You would expect most banana-eating animals to peel it quickly and wolf it down. This monkey, however, has her own way of doing things. You might even call her a picky eater.

She efficiently peels the banana, but also wants to get rid of the phloem bundles, those stringy things between the peel and the fruit. Each one must be meticulously removed, not only from the banana, but also from her child, and from the log they are sitting on. She hates the ploem bundles!
